What is Hope?

Hope in Tonbridge and Surrounding Villages is part of the nationwide Hope08 initiative. It has been described as:

"A really remarkable vision that has grown out of the success of a number of local urban projects. Christians have to learn how to give an absolutely clear answer to the question, 'why is this good news?'" - Rowan Williams (Archbishop of Canterbury)

  • churches working together, uniting in prayer, outreach and community action to help transform their neighbourhoods …
  • locally-organised initiatives with a distinctive youth feel …
  • providing opportunities for those who know God calls them to love their neighbour but don't know where to start …
  • doing more – doing it together – and doing it in word and action …
  • believing that people will turn to Jesus when they’re touched by his hands and his heart as well as his word

Get Involved!

The best thing you can do right now is to fill in and return a Response Card...

If you haven't already got one Click Here... Print it out on two sides of A4. Read and pray over it, trim it down, fill it in and return it to the box in your Church or to the address on the card, as your covenant with God to help Hope in 2009 and beyond.

And Volunteer ...

Volunteers are needed for quite a number of really exciting and challenging projects. To find out, follow the Volunteer Trail. In the sidebar of this page click on Volunteer Trail... Do the same on each page you visit, and you'll be taken round the whole trail, finishing back here. Read each page carefully and prayerfully and find where you fit in! And where a project isn't you, pray that the Lord will staff it with people of his choosing, enabling it to have a real impact on our community.
