Prayer Pointers
Thank you for being willing to pray for Hope. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Download the latest prayer bookmark. See sidebar.
Use these quotations to help you pray. Pray through them slowly and thoughtfully.
Praise and thank the Lord...
- for all the HOPE projects being developed (see Projects page)
- for the unity of our local churches, of which HOPE is but one expression
- for the way the International Friendship project has taken off: in particular the Teremok (Russian Mums and Toddlers) meetings on Wednesdays and the Friday evening International Friendship meetings in Starbuck's
- for the enthusiastic attendance of many HOPE events and activities (see calendar), including the Mens' Curry Evenings
- For the Alpha Courses currently taking place in Tonbridge Baptist Church and Caffe Nero, and Christianity Explored at St Peter and St Paul. Pray for effective follow-up
Please pray...
- for communications to continue to work well among Churches, leading to increased HOPE awareness and wide publicity for HOPE events
- for volunteers to help with projects -- some are in urgent need
- For further development of existing projects: Healing on the Streets on Saturday mornings, a Chinese Mums and Toddlers group, Parents Plus seeking to assist families encountering problems, CATCH seeking to offer practical assistance to the needy in their homes, reading Bible Stories to children in primary school who may not know much about the Bible
- for vision for new projects, for example: offering a Christian presence in difficult areas (e.g. Tonbridge Station late on Saturday evening); work amongst vulnerable children, teenage parents and other single parents; supervision of those on community service orders
- for opportunities to show the love of Jesus from day to day, particularly to those who feel outcast or neglected by society
- for opportunities to speak to people about Jesus in a natural way
